Now that a mask has become an essential wardrobe element, it’s time to think about how to maximize the beauty benefits that wearing a mask offers.
I know, you’re probably thinking that I’m crazy for suggesting that anything beautiful can be had with a mask covering half of your face, but I’m a staunch believer in maximizing what is.
So here are some benefits that I actually like about wearing a mask.
I used to reapply my lipstick regularly, but not so much anymore. It’s so freeing to not worry about constantly “putting on my lips.”
There’s no doubt that without a mask I generally feel better with color on my lips, but nowadays, I pick my times to apply lipstick instead of constantly reaching for my lipstick case as soon as it’s worn off.
Expressive eyes are a beauty statement in and of themselves. And since eyes are the mirrors of our souls, expression of self through our eyes can become both an art and a gift.
This one’s a doozy.
I can do consistent lower-face and neck yoga while wearing my mask! Because face yoga can contort your lower face and mouth in some very strange ways, it used to be virtually impossible to do lower facial exercises in public without getting very strange looks.
Before the mandatory mask requirements, I would set aside specific blocks of time for face yoga. Those times were typically in the shower, in the car when there were no other cars around, or while working alone.
With a mask, I can do face yoga pretty much whenever I have a mask on – which nowadays in anywhere in public when not eating or drinking.
And guess what? My lower face and jawline are toning up nicely, and because I can launch into face yoga any time I have a mask on, finding time makes it convenient.
Here’s one on my favorite face yoga exercises.
Curl your upper and lower lips around your teeth and smile wide while saying BaaaaaayBeeeeeee.
Continue at least 10 times per session. Do at least 3 sessions per day.
Give it a try, be consistent, and over time, you may just be grateful for the facial anonymity your mask gives you!
To your Best and Highest,
