Really! It’s different than it sounds, but it works…
During tumultuous, unsettling, and uncertain times in our lives, communities, or in the world, it’s often easy to lose balance. The constant barrage of bad news from nearly every form of media can create both worry and fear. Either one of these can sap our energy and enjoyment of life.
Long term effects can be overeating, excessive drinking or sleeping, and even depression.
Knowing that what we focus on Expands, it’s immensely important to frequently check in with your emotions. I like to use a system I call “Staying H-I-G-H” which involves just your focus and state of mind.
It’s a simple 4-step process. When done with consistency, it can help keep you in “the zone” of higher energy and focus that elevates your spirit and outlook. And who can’t use more of that nowadays?
Let’s take a closer look at how this works.
Each letter stands for a state or emotion that helps to refocus and center amidst the craziness of the times. HIGH = Happy. Inspired. Grateful. Held.
You might be wondering what Held means? For me, it’s is the feeling that the universe has a plan, and I trust the process to bring me to my Best and Highest.
I find that making a declaration creates a vibrational connection to the universe that helps to manifest more of the same. Keep it simple and authentic.
Examples of this could be:
I’m Happy because… (I did my workout today)
I’m Inspired By… (the birds singing outside my window)
I’m Grateful for… (health right now)
I feel Held because… (I’m safe in this moment)
Anything you authentically feel in each category counts, even if it seems to be temporary. Being in the moment during my process allows me to acknowledge the “little things” that I might normally overlook. Over time, these “little things” can make a big difference in how we see the world.
HINT: The important part is to set aside 1 minute daily to focus on each point. Breaking it down, 60 seconds / 4 = 15 seconds each. Do this for 30 days straight and see what happens!
